I always use the buy-on-arrival facility in Australia, though.
I wonder if it had anything to do with purchases from the US?

I travelled BHX-CDG-VIE a couple of times last year and bought Whiskey (technically not duty free, as it was inside the EU) for a client. As before, it was in a sealed bag and I had no problems.
