You may want to apologize for something you employer did, but it's going to be seen as nothing moore than an empty statement by an individual who has no power to rectify the situation being apologized for, so why apologize? It just comes across as disingenuous.

I prefer to have the apology be made by an individual who actually is in a position to remedy the problem at hand, otherwise don't even bother talking to me about the problem unless something constructive comes out of it.
While a fair comment, someone still represents the airline no? Just like my own behavior at some point I am the person representing my employer...i need to own up to it.
