An interesting side note, Thai does a full, 6 course meal in an hour, whereas AC takes almost 2.5 hours for the same service. I know it's hard to compare because there are many externalities, but even flying domestic in Australia, I wish I lived in a different aviation market

I don't mean to be melodramatic but thought i'd share a datapoint. I've applied to jobs outside of Canada with my employer to certain Asian cities. Since my job forces me to travel a lot, I basically checked out and said i'm done flying N. American airlines and being part of this race to the bottom.
BR served my meal in less than an hour post hitting 10,000 feet (3/4 courses honestly too much champagne to remember). I feel your pain. The service we get while flying in this country (and the US) is abysmal. I'm rolling onto an AC flight in a few days and look, i'm not bitter or hateful, but now that i've seen how Asian airlines treat their customers, i'm cringing. Yes, I realize that there are a few on here, on FT and AC employees who buck the trend, but it's not the norm I see flying in this country. On WS, AC, DL, AA, UA - nope, I don't see it. It really is sad the state of aviation in N. America. Want other datapoints? Follow the guys on this forum who truly fly for a living - hell, just follow yyznomad. His ANA lounge threads remind me of my experience when flying to TPE. It's sad the way we have it in this country. I used to think AC was the ****, now while I feel safe flying our national airline, it's become the greyhound bus for me.
PS, flying AC>UA is still my preference. I have a UA flight in June for the first time in a long time (actually two), who knows what thread i'll start as a result
