You really don't need a guide. There are plenty of ready made tours you can crib from in the internet rather than paying for a guide.

'almost seniors' = early 60's? So hardly decrepit and so should be able to manage without being 'nursed' if you go at your own pace.

Start by making a list of things you all want to see and then group them together to reduce travel time between them. Remember that many of the museums here are free (other than special exhibitions) so there is nothing to stop you dipping in and out of them if you need a break.


All the museums have websites so you can plan visits in advance - especially to see specific works of art or items.
