Of course it is totally acceptable to spread out when the space is there.
And from a CC point of view: I am glad to see you are a responsible parent and made sure the seatbelts are around your children, which will then mean the CC won't have to wake them if the seat belt signs came on, something we often get abuse for or being frowned at.
Glad you all had a good rest and managed to enjoy Christmas
