I guess if cash withdrawals to checking looks like money laundering I'll try billpay. The problem is I'm using RB for several card's required spend and setting each one up will be hard. I still worry that I'll lose control of the funds as they are hopefully sent to the cc company.

Bill Pay from REDCard is an ACH transaction same as it would be from your bank. It's actually quite a bit easier to set up bill pay for each of your cards through Amex's interface since they have a database of payees than it would be to either a) go to each card's website and put in your bank info for payments or b) set up bill pay through your bank.
And as others have pointed out you need to keep in mind this was a holiday week and today is not a business day even though you seem to be counting it as one.
