As a user of Aairpass for business - wouldnt give it up in a heat beat. Most of my business trips are booked less than 72hrs out, that plus the instant upgrade (booking into Y but upgrading at time of booking to C/A) is a godsend for transcons and even pulled it off on the DFW>HKG twice). However almost all of my flying I can book 2-3 weeks out is cheaper to buy outright / diff carriers (been flying a lot of Alaska recently). The no change fees/no charge till fly is also pretty dam convenient for making meetings when things go wrong.
