It's definitely not dead. Online hasn't been doable but in person certainly is alive and well. I came here and read the thread and thought something had happened since Jan 1st that made it so it's completely dead, which is not the case. Better to not confuse people.
Also, your wording of debit loads for REDCard. Has anyone confirmed that you can do these loads for another $1000/mo in person on top of the $5000/mo? Because the REDCard wiki clearly states this:
*For online debit load, only use of bank-issued cards is allowed. The use of pre-paid debit cards (Netspend, Paypower, Univision, Paypal, etc.) and VGC/MGC/AGCs is not allowed. Your account will be flagged upon first/second attempt.
And I haven't heard of anyone doing in person "debit" loads on top of the in person "credit" loads (because the credit loads are going through as cash loads so no reason to believe a debit card would behave differently currently unless it's been confirmed)
