Not to be snarky, but big businesses don't care about individual consumers. Unless thousands of people start complaining about a clause in their contract, they aren't going to care.
But do you know what does get their attention? Class action lawsuits.
The accounts posted here suggest it isn't happening and that their CSRs are misinformed, but if they did charge a "cash advance fee" for a transaction that wasn't actually a cash advance, that sounds like grounds for a lawsuit to me.
