Upgrades Overview section of UA's website. It is absolutely crystal clear as to what flights are eligible and how MP members can support an international upgrade. Your expectations are way out of line with the published standards and flatly inconsistent with how airlines around the world operate their businesses.
It is very unlikely the business class cabin will go out empty. Those seats are in high demand.
I understand Airlines perspective of terms and conditions. I was thinking it would be better to have these perks for Premiers. Thanks for the Clarifications though.
