Honestly, using a cash advance PIN as a workaround at unmanned terminals isn't a good idea. Even if it works and doesn't charge you extra fees or interest it hides the actual problem, which is that the vast majority of our cards don't work at 100% of terminals. This is probably one of the highest ranked pages on Google regarding US EMV cards and we shouldn't encourage this at all unless it's an emergency, especially since there are publicly available cards that actually support a PIN of some sort.
(Besides, this particular workaround will probably stop working after this year anyway when the vast majority of unattended terminals finally process the CVM list correctly and won't even let you enter a PIN on Chase cards. Then again, the workaround won't be necessary anyway since it's supposed to accept the card and all.)
