Certainly, but travel-related boards on the web are loaded with one-and-done posters who register solely for the purpose of lobbing a grenade. The gist of the OP was not to seek information, not to ask, "What could I have done?" or "Are there really no exceptions in a case like ours?" The post concluded with "Avoid this airline." That was the purpose of the OP. As if that will sway the longtime AA customers who frequent this forum ...
