My only piece of advice is to get BP issued for all flights at IAD (should not be a problem) and then you will avoid the joys of the Transfer Desk. With a 6 hour layover it's not going to make any difference, really, but less hassle.

I've never traveled with minors before, but I would be sure that all the paperwork on them was in order. Given your description of your party, it would seem that both parents of all the various kids will be present, which will make things easier, but, as everywhere else, there is increased scrutiny of parties with children traveling internationally.
I don't think it will be an issue for you, esp. given the amount of time you have, but better to have everything in order.
