It has been a couple of years since we spent a night here on the way from FLL to Key West. It was nice enough that we will be spending a couple of nights here in January. It isn't the newest facility but was reasonably nice and a good value for the points, especially compared to the 70 and 80K rates seen in the Miami area. I did the same a couple years ago, as a stop over on route to KW. Liked this property due to beach access, HH treatment (free breakfast, ocean view room, waived parking)
Unfortunately, most hotels in KW are overpriced points wise, and then they shake you down for resort fees and expensive breakfast.
I just returned from Christmas Week in KW, and I noticed that there is a brand new Hyatt Place on Marathon Key, free breakfast, no resort fees. Brand New. 15K points. Small Pool, no beach, a marina on site still under construction.
So, I will use this as a stop over on route to KW, to save some points.
Just a suggestion, since the Hilton is expensive points wise.
