Oh I see it now. Thanks. Definitely looks shorter, but using Street View the shortest route using Soi KK 11/1 seems unpaved.
I guess it needs a driver familiar with the ins and outs.

Does anyhow have any info on the time taken if using this route, and if the road gets congested during the day?
