It should be visible on your ua.com profile within a few days, but it takes about 2 weeks to get the card. Once it's visible on UA.com you can get access to United Clubs (just have them scan your BP at the entrance). But you'll need the actual card to use *A lounges.
I've almost never have to whip out my actual membership card in the last 3 years. I just present my boarding pass, they scan it and say "Welcome Back Mr. xxxxxx, enjoy your stay"
The last time I actually used my card, was when I went into IAH on a Gate Pass to pick up my Mother-In-Law last week. Since her flight was delayed I spent the time in the club and even then I used the version from the Mobile App, as the physical card is stashed in my Card Folder that I only have when travelling.
