My wife and I were on the same flight, I think you may have been the chap with the long frizzy hair and the Gold bag tags?

We were in the same position, both Silvers (at the time) booked in WT+; we were offered POUG at $499 pp all week - cheap but just too much to justify! We were moved from row 11 to row 19 early afternoon. Checked FR24 and sure enough the equipment was G-ZZZB which has one fewer WT+ but far fewer WT seats than the booked 788 and had F. Checking in late afternoon we were upgraded to Club, result!

Ground staff were great at EWR as usual (though my wife got the same BP as me and had to go back after a long wait for the immigration officer) and the lounge was quiet and good including supper.

Unfortunately our experience on the plane was very different - not to look a gift horse in the mouth, we were really grateful for 15E/F together, but we had to share menus, were told brusquely "we have a lot of upgrades and we're short" as if to underline we were one of them! And felt generally ignored. My wife didn't have a dinner order taken until she used the call button and I already had mine. Club Kitchen was bare. I had to ask for coffee three times in the morning! I'm usually very forgiving and BA LH crew are usually great but I felt like there should be a consistent product regardless of whether the pax are op-up or paid. Anyway I do understand they had a hard job and change in equipment, insufficient supplies and a full flight.

Glad you had a good flight, we certainly appreciated the op-up and overall a great year of flying BA for me too.
