Small and not particularly remarkable. Which is what makes it remarkable.

You'll be from check in to gate in around 10 mins.

As other have observed, if you fly BA1 to JFK the real life-saver is pre-clearance of immigration & customs. You'll be out of JFK T7 in < 10 mins.

It's equally appealing on the way back, but for different reasons. When you get back to LCY you'll be out of the airport in < 10 mins. Contrast that with LHR, where you'll come off a red eye, traipse to a shuttle train then traipse through endless miles of corridors to an often overcrowded immigration hall, then face the onward schlep home.

I've become something of a LCY-JFK convert for a number of reasons:

- It's seemingly less convenient for me to get to from the part of London I live in, but comparing the door-to-door times LCY vs. LHR, LCY is winning - and that's with it taking around 30 minutes longer to get to from where I am.
- The GSM there is superb. Like Special Services at their best.
- The small gate lounge for JFK flights is perfectly adequate and I've always had something I've seldom experienced in the LHR CCR: instant service.
- The LCY-JFK crews are on the whole superb. Like flying F almost every time.
- The food is generally a significant cut above anything else in BA CW.
- Immigration pre-clearance is an utter godsend.
- F TPs are a rather nice icing on the cake.
