committing a federal offense usually isn't smart. But you know the risk you are taking. I think having them in a carry-on is safer than checked luggage which can be inspected at any time.
I know it wasn't smart, but I was in my mid-twenties and having CUBAN cigars at a party was cool.
Even if I honestly cannot taste the difference between an expensive cigar and a cheap one!
