Indeed, that's exactly the response I got.
I am due to pass 3,000 Tier Points on Apr 28 - 20 days after the new rules come into force, on flights booked before the new rules were announced. I asked if they might consider a one-time extension to the cut-off period given the circumstances, but no.
I can't change the timing of the trip that will take me to 3,000 so I guess I'll just live with being Gold. No biggie. Fortunately, there has been a schedule change on the other tier point run so I can cancel the ticket, get a refund and spend the money on something other than BA.
