That's what I thought, but I've read horror stories lately about United not allowing check-in when the passport middle name isn't on the ticket, and/or inability to check-in online or at a kiosk. I've also noticed that other airlines are more prominently displaying secure check requirements at time of ticket purchase that in the past, including the verbiage that your passport and booking names must match exactly.
