So I got impatient, and called in to CS. They changed my email address to a gmail account, and immediately got the verification email. He said I can change my email back once I get the real card in the mail. I had BB linked to my Outlook.com address, so maybe that got things confused. I did cancel my BB account a few minutes before I activated the RedCard.
