Sounds odd to me.

What was the catering situation in F for the 11 pax? Were you in some way asked if you wanted to reserve specific menu choices as the only paid F passenger?

Given BA's tendency to cater only to expected loads, even in F, it does seem strange that there would be sufficient catering for 10 last-minute unplanned F upgrades.
