Unless living in the Middle East, where the head of the houshold can collect the miles of all his underlings, miles cannot be collected for anyone else's flight or transferred in the M&M program. You can use your miles to book flights for someone else if you have enough miles. It's possible to book one-ways for half the number of miles, btw.

If you credit miles to UA instead, you can transfer miles, but you have to pay quite a lot (I believe $15/1000 miles + $20 transaction fee).
