Possibly many people are not as knowledgable about Tokyo as the above two posters and don't understand the humor that they are attempting to imply.
Trains in Tokyo do local as well as long distance service and Tokyo station has a number of local train lines, two of which (the Chuo Line and the Yamanote line), visitors will use over and over again, I am not saying that having 4 subway lines not too far away, like the Aman has, is bad; it's quite good. But I would regard Tokyo station as better as it has 5+ local train lines (including the 2 that I mentioned) and 1 subway line.
