Not having a car is no real problem in San Francisco, but it is in Los Angeles....

If you want to use those Diamond upgrades you will need to look at points+cash options, no way to use them on full point stays.

For SFO you have two decent, but not spectacular choices, the GH and HR. Both are in pretty decent locations, I prefer the GH.

For LA there are different choices depending on location.
