I know I never did back in the day I was flying about twice that each year - the rest went on AA mainly. I used to put the DM number in the PNR until I was in the lounge, then change to the AA number once either the op-up / benefit has materialised or it hasn't (say at T-20).
i kinda assumed the two went hand in hand, no? ie, I have to put my DM # into the system in order to receive DM benefits? And by having my MPC# in there, I automatically accrue to Asia Miles.
I know of at least one way to avoid it - I've read here some of the more enterprising FT members strip the # from their BP at the lounge or gate - but I'm not really keen to do that each flight. Is there another way I can accrue 120k+ to AA or Alaska but still get the "unpublished" benefits of DM?
