We had a theoretical connection from hell at PHX last week. 31 minute scheduled connection time (connecting through the last flight of the night).

To my horror, I found then that the flights were booked to park at A21 and then have our connecting flight depart off of B27. That's a long walk.

Granted we made it in 10 minutes early, but it still took 16 minutes for a party of four to walk that distance. Also helped that we were in row 2...

I was also told that US may hold last departure flights on the final bank and if there is sufficient passenger load. On my flight, we were told there were 24 people connecting to the flight in question from our flight....
