Lack of pride or control at Breckenridge Marriott
My wife, son and I checked in on the 19th of December for 7 nights. We were assigned to a studio with a king and a pullout.
Everything seemed in order and was great until I inquired about some "Santa" gifts that would be arriving prior to Christmas for my son. The FDA assured me that a few of the gifts were there and that they would get the others from the post office prior to the 25th. The evening of the 24th arrived and I had a tracking # that showed delivery was at the post office but I was told nobody picked up Mail on the 24th and my son was out of luck. I understand the hospitality industry and all but why not pick up mail from the PO Box that day? I was shocked that nobody behind the desk that evening offered to run the 8 blocks to the post office.
Next, I know weed is legal in Colorado and I know smoking of all kinds is banned from the Marriott property but why after several mentions to staff was nothing ever done? The marijuana crowd has the same rights as my family does besides the ability to smoke anywhere they please.
Finally, as I headed back to Glenwood Springs to catch Amtrak I noticed I left my prescription meds in the nightstand. I immediately called to inform them and Sy told me there was nothing she could do because housekeeping was gone for the day. I explained that there were meds in that drawer that could kill a child in moments and she asked me to call back Monday (tomorrow) to talk to a manager. (My brother used to work in loss prevention at this location and he explained this was an example where security needed to secure those medications so they would be out of the wrong hands.)
Since when don't people care, realize other people's needs, take other people into consideration, or care about the well being of others?
Am I a 37 year old pain in the butt or is the Marriott just missing the boat?
