I wouldn't stress too much about things being closed. In my (15 year) experience here it's only some of the small family owned/run shops & restaurants that close. Everything else is open as normal, especially in the last few years with hoards of locusts descending during one of their weeks off. More of an issue will be hotel availability at the mid- to low-end due to said locusts.
