Hi All!
I've stayed at this hotel approximately 10 times in the last year. My last stay was just 2 weeks ago. Below are my pro's and con's:
Pro's:
- Check in uneventful. I reserved a Jr. Suite w/King & pull out couch. Room was 4711. Nice corner view of WTC Freedom Tower & Brooklyn Bridge.
- Received complimentary breakfast coupons for continental breakfast. Was upgraded to hot breakfast/and/or buffet.
- Easy walking distance to work (Financial District). Love being close to my two favorite restaurants Brasserie Les Halles (1 block) and Giardino D'Oro (5 Gold St, 8 blocks).
- Having Century 21 next door has saved me a few times! Grabbed some gloves, hat for hubby and scarfs.
- Subway stations are super close.
- My son lost his newly purchased knit cap at the hotel. Lost and found had it! Nice surprise.
Con's:
- No Executive Lounge (sort of shocking for NYC!).
- Room furniture & carpet disappointingly old.
- Closest subway station, Cortlandt (at the door basically) was closed. Not the hotel's fault. Walked down to Fulton St station ( 1 block).
- Noisy room heating unit.
- No turn down amenity. A turn down and chocolates would be nice.
Since drinks at the hotel are ridiculous, we walk down to one of two wine/liquor stores and keep our own in the room. Both stores are within 4 blocks.
There's also a really good pizza place with great beer prices just across the street named, "Stage Door". During the day, nice views, great prices and BIG beers (hubby loved it).
Hope this helps my FT friends!
