You're correct. I believe SEA has already told Emirates they're not ready to accomadte the a380 and there's no plans in the near future because I doubt they'll spend the money just to accommodate one a380 service.

I prefer the a380 J seat. The seats are more private, their lie flat compared to the 777 seat which is angled, more storage (window seats only) and the biggest perk in the J cabin on the a380 is the bar area which comes in handy when you're on a 12+ hour flight.
The Conrad was amazing. Rooms are large and basically brand new, service was top notch and the hotel was walking distance to food places and supermarket. You also have the Fairmont next door which has two of the hottest night clubs in Dubai.
Not sure about the Dubai connect question, I have read that if you book using AS miles you're not eligible for Dubai connect.
