Who: College senior majoring in history/theatre and minoring in museum studies
When: My last requirement for Gold, PQD, is JUST over the line but hasn't posted yet.
How: I live near IAD and my college is roughly equidistant from several Virginian outstations with feeds to IAD on United Express or Silver Airways. I wasn't interested in paying to insure a car while attending college in a very walkable small town, so I fly between college and home and get in quite a few 500-mile minimums that way. I have also flown for leisure several times this year and have undertaken a few mini-MRs. Almost all my flying is on UA or *A partners when I can help it.
Where: ROA/CHO (and formerly SHD/LWB, but those are no longer United Express) to IAD a few times a semester, with guest appearances by ARN, BOS, BRU, CDG, CLE, CPH, DCA, DEN, DFW, DRO, EWR, FRA, IAH, LAX, LHR, MXP, ORD, PHL, PHX, PIT, SYD, and WLG.
Why: I just love people-watching in the terminals, enjoying an upgrade when I'm lucky, and so on. Even experiencing takeoff and landing doesn't get old for me. Studying the history of aviation formally this year has only increased my interest.
What: If anything, my travel will increase in 2015. Many work opportunities in my niche fields of historical interest are scattered around the country/world, and I'd like to take advantage of a few years I've given myself before attending graduate school to suck as much experience as I can get out of all of them. I also just enjoy flying and am enjoying a few vacations. I've been very lucky.
