Qantas is definitely not one I would be recommending for anyone starting out in a scheme; its redemption rates are atrocious together with fuel fines galore

If close to lifetime gold status can be worth pursuing, but otherwise another scheme would seem a good choice

To the OP's question, unless has arrived into AU on a ticket which is not spent, then going to SIN is pretty much the only option ; if still got a ticket, perhaps try changing it to go to melbourne or similar
