Somewhere someone in Honolulu (and probably elsewhere) will have an electronics collection event where they will examine and categorize per best potential use. They will refurbish or recycle. Erase your data and take/send it along to them. Even my little Midwestern town does this on a regular basis.

Please take it somewhere that will keep it out of the landfill until all usable materials have been removed.
