In case it's not clear why the T&Cs are BS: I once had the choice between 170€ in foreign hotel currency without breakfast or 70€ with breakfast on a third party site. I chose to book on the 3rd party site, which is exactly what the BRG program tries to prevent. I still got the Ambassador upgrade because that is not linked to the booking channel. The hotel also erred into giving me points for the stay...
