If they didn't tell anybody then I can proceed with the EU 261. If they say they did (or they never had a dec 24 flight) then it is damning evidence against delta.
In any case I'll write delta about the red coat behavior and ineptitude.
But you know that DL was aware in Nov at the latest that the flight did not exist. So other than the possibility of pinning down the EU 261 this is just details.
DL dropped the ball. Period.
Even if it is EU 261, DL is still responsible for the failure (though the EU regs are unclear here, the operational failure was clear).
