I read through the guide, and called but still not confident in mpm.
With US airways you can make a booking without miles (as long as you have an account). You can ask for it to be put on a three-day hold.
Ask the agent to send it to the rate desk if they don't at the time of booking - the rate desk will confirm the itinerary.
If the itinerary is approved, transfer your miles.
