I've owned every Surface Pro as well as several iPads and the SP3 is an *awesome* tablet/laptop replacement.
Yes, for general use around the house I still generally grab my iPad. But on business trips the SP3 is frequently the only device I bring and it makes for a heck of a light bag. I use it for "tablet stuff" like watching movies and playing games while on the plane or in bed in the hotel, and then just flip the keyboard around for full Outlook and Office when I need to get work done.
It's not the best tablet and it's not the best laptop, but I do think it's the best two in one device currently on the market and I genuinely love mine.
