I've done an award reservation once a year for the last few years always looking for 2 Business class tickets from Sea- CDG or AMS...onward to another European city.

I have used ExpertFlyer religiously to research any patterns or airlines that seem to offer some seats way before my booking.

In a nutshell, we have had pretty good luck on AF from either LAX or SFO or ORD. ( for awhile ORD always had two+ AF business seats loaded 355 days out usually to CDG but I haven't checked for sometime)

Except for BA which I didn't use because of the fuel surcharge and bad connections, I never found any doable flights on any other partner.
