Have been using ScanSnaps for years, they are worth their weight in gold.

CamScanner is awesome. It also automatically finds the corners of the document and "squares" it, correcting for skew. In a pinch, I have used it to scan and PDF letter sized pages. It's sub-optimal for full pages, but it works well enough.

It will use photos from your camera roll, and will do batch photos to make multi-page PDFs. So if you can take a panoramic photo, it will make a PDF of it.

CamScanner, the ScanSnap, OneNote, OneDrive, and CamCard (business card scanner) are the cornerstones of my paperless existence.

All my home and business bills and payments and scanned monthly (separately obviously) to searchable PDFs, saved locally and to OneDrive, and mirrored to a NAS drive on my home network.
