So, without threat of punishment, anyone should be able to move to any seat they want? I'm going to quit waiting for my CPUs. If I see a open seat, I'm just going to take it.

Sounds like the over-entitled traveler remained in the seat of her choice until just before cops came on, when she slithered back to assigned seat. She could have gotten off the plane when requested by law enforcement officers, or she could have been arrested for not doing so. She was given a choice and her choice was the latter. She should be fined for clogging up the legal system and her 3 days in tax-payer supported accommodations.
