hello, i have been reading this forum as well as other resources online and it looks to me like the JAL is the best program to credit Emirates flight for someone based in DXB. Objective is to redeem those miles on EK flights especially in premium cabins.
The burn ratio especially in J and F long haul is way better on JMB and the amount of taxes and surcharges collected is minimal. The limitations of no one ways allowed and depart and return from same country are not a huge concern to me
I would like to understand if there is any massive issue that im missing such as:
- any change to the JAL program in 2015 that will devaluate miles?
- earn ratio on JAL much poorer than if Skywards member?
- award space reserved to skywards members only?
- possibility to use miles for class upgrade and not just on flights?

The earn rate on JMB is not great in economy class. K, U, B, M, B, V, T, Q, L, X earns 50% of mileage, Y, E, W, R earns 100%. In business O only earns 50%, rest 125% and first class 150%. Except F,A,J,C,Y you do not earn any miles between Tokyo and Dubai.
You can't use miles for upgrades, only for flights.
