CX561 KIX-HKG No Full Beverage Service
Flew a roundtrip in Y between HKG-KIX CX502/CX561 a couple of weeks ago. The outbound to KIX was normal (mundane food, robotic but efficient CX-style service). On the return, the initial beverage service consisted of a tray of drinks with 3 choices only (apple juice, water, Coke). I am sure if I had asked for something else, they would have brought it to me but why bother? The flight was a 4-hour flight so it definitely there was definitely enough time for the full beverage cart. Also, there is usually an ice cream for dessert in Y on the regional routes but it wasn't there either.
I wrote to CX and ask them about it and the response wasn't much of one, simply stating that they would review the service. I just felt that CX is cutting corners everywhere that they are now starting to look like an LCC. Earlier in the year, I flew JL to HND and it was miles better than CX in terms of seat comfort, meals and service.
