That said, I'm open to the fact it could be my ipad, which is an iPad 2. I'm running iOS 7.1.2 - have been afraid to up(down)grade to iOS 8 given all of the things I've heard from others with iPad 2's. Still, the Gogo app indicates its optimized for iphone 5's, yet will work on most I-devices.
Has anybody else successfully used this App on an ipad 2?
The system can be finicky to log into, but once it was up and running there was no problem with it freezing during today's flight from PDX to ANC.
I had previously downloaded the GoGo Videoplayer onto my Samsung tablet. I could access the GoGo site with Firefox (my default browser) but kept getting error messages that my device wasn't compatible. My seatmate, using an iPad, was getting error messages using a different browser. (Safari, perhaps? I can't recall.) The 2 fellows behind us in row 3 were also having problems getting logged in.
Eventually I was able to get it up and running using
Chrome to access the GoGo site on my
Android device - apparently that's the "trick."
From that point on it was smooth sailing. Same thing for seatmate - once he switched to the iPad specific browser he was able to stream with no problems. Nice selection of content, much broader than the digeplayers. My only complaint is that it's more difficult to fast-forward or rewind as compared to the old digeplayers.
