Question: Bag Fees on Return

For those who have recent experience, I have questions on baggage fees when checking back in on Silver Airways:

UA Ticket on 016 stock
Outbound: DEN/MCO/EYW (Key West)
Return: EYW/MCO/DEN

According to the United site:

As 1K, I can check 2 bags, 62.0 linear inches, 70lbs each in both directions.

I'm packing scuba equipment and want to know how much I can check (no pressure vessels).

I thought I read somewhere some had issues checking back in with Silver on the return and having to pay bag fees.

Any personal experiences regarding baggage fees on a Silver code share route with UA?
