You cannot use AA miles to upgrade a paid QR flight
You cannot use AA miles to upgrade a QR award flight, originally paid for with QR miles.
You could cancel your QR booking and get an award QR flight, with your AA miles, subject to availibity.
Cross airline upgrades with miles are very uncommon. Only possibe with a few airlines like AA/BA/IB and some star airlines. But needs a high priced economy ticket to start with.
