If you're required to use corporate travel to book your ticket, using the cert will be a problem. You and wife would be on the same PNR.

However, it might make more sense to put one kid on the companion cert with you and the other kid on the same PNR as wife if possible, using miles. Note that it sometimes requires more miles to book two award tickets together on the same PNR than to book them sequentially with separate PNRs.
