Unfortunately, if it was just about safety, there are a few foreign airlines people would not rave about them for their service, and simply stick to the domestics.

AA, UA, Delta, flight crews don't crash 777s in broad daylight on a calm day...
To which I replied that US flight crews actually do sometimes crash aircraft (maybe not 777s) due to pilot error as well. To imply that OZ's safety record is tarnished because of a recent error by a particular crew one day is pretty ridiculous. To imply a similar situation could not possibly happen to a US flight crew is even more ridiculous.
