I fly sometimes HEL-JFK-SEA/SFO-JFK-HEL, usually with AY flight numbers booked on AY web. Typically AA auto-assigns me one of their "preferred seats" at booking and I need the AA Record Locator to manage booking on aa.com. I can't recall having issues choosing a MCE seat for these bookings.
